Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

How about some NRL22? I'm looking into entering a few local competitions. I have the rig for it, I think. However, doing some 100 yard yesting of ammo last week, I was pretty disappointed with the Eley Club that I use for 50 yard targets. It'll hit toothpicks in half at 50, but at 100, I was lucky to keep a 6" grouping with it. CCI SV performed much better, and I picked up some Eley Tenex, CCI Pistol Match, Eley Benchrest and Normatac to give a try. I'd like to try Lapua Center X and some SK Biathlon too, but can't find it anywhere currently and don't want to dial in my rifle for an ammo I may not be able to get again. My buddy has a doppler radar setup we are gonna use and have a 22 shootout and see what's the most consistent at 100 and 200 yards.

Pic for attention, Tikka T1x, KRG Bravo chassis, Nikon 6-18 Prostaff and a Silcencerco Sparrow. And the best grouping I have gotten at 50 yards so far, 10 shots with Eley Club, CCI SV is slightly larger.

To your point the Eley and CCI are the only choices readily available in my area As well. Sweet rig for sure. I think you should definitely put it to the test in local matches. There is just no better way to dial in your equipment And ammunition. The rigors and structure of competition are invaluable as a training tool. I have several instructors that I work with that passionately disagree with me on this topic but they have never competed. Side note they do not shoot as well as the guys that compete regularly, by no means saying you need to be a good shooter to teach but it sure helps on occasion.
