Yup. Agreed. And if the wash doesn't do it, a quick claybar fixes it right up.
The project car I have in my shop is my son's and he used to detail cars at a dealer, buffed them, clay bar them etc he knows more about shining up car paint then I ever will. He told me leave dust on the car don't touch it he will clean it shine it up once glass is in and it can be washed first. So sure the old man is not supposed to do anything sounds good to me.
