340 A body versus 383 B body

But they did
My stock 68 gts 340 auto 3.23s e-70-14s went 14.3@97mph with 85k on it as purchased from the original owner in 1983 with nothing but a tune up and a timming bump anybody with a 1/2 a clue knows the early carbs cost 20 hp on the 340 and just that change gets a 3.23 car 14.0 14.1 stock.
mr roco was correct mph tells the story A-bodys run 94 to 99 mph 3.23s to 3.91s there are 20 drag test atleast with those mph numbers most were 96 to 97 3.91 cars duster 340 aar cuda were 99mph and yes i saw the 15.0 aar cuda or ta test really a 340 6pak doing 15.0 @94 lol
B body 383 mph was 93 mph with gears and wider tires thats it and the 14.7 was its claim to fame you know that car was super tuned 15.0 or higher was the norm.
0 to 60 in 8.1? lol maybe backwards 6.4 6.5 was avg for a 340 for a B body 6.9 if you could drive the race is over

mr hemiSSdart 383 A-body went 14.91 with 3.55s something tells me he can drive
Its funny that in the know a-body should be experts do not know what the proper times and mph that these cars ran with a good driver ( maybe themselves ) and not an asshat
11s in a 383 car from the 80s that is another story the the super stock hemi cudas and darts turned 11.20s@120 as delivered @3020 lbs or so
What its the 383 A body curb weight? 3500 lbs thats alotta hp say 520 crank almost 1.4 hp/cube
One of the tricks was to replace the 340 carb with an AVS off a 440. Most people wouldn't know the difference looking at it.
