My Dad recently passed away and it has shifted my perspective a lot. It’s with a heavy heart that I am listing Project Midnight Swinger for sale. My build is chronicled here:

Project Midnight Swinger

My plan was to build a fair weather street bruiser. Bare bones, all power, no comfort. Please see the build thread for a more comprehensive list of what has been done.

1974 Dodge Dart Swinger, originally white with a slant six and 904. It has fender mounted turn signals, heated rear window(grid needs repair), map light and ignition light. Some pretty cool options.

The previous owner painted the car a single stage silver metallic that looks decent when it’s washed and waxed. Has some rust and dents, not perfect, but looks awesome all cleaned up.

Needs interior mostly. I was doing a heater and radio delete, they were already missing. Needs carpet, and door panels. The door panels it has are home made and not great. Needs a package tray. Has procar seats installed.

Now has:
1970 HP 383 that was rebuilt before I got it, and the owner I got it from didn’t have any idea on what was done to it. DP4B freshly painted and sealed with the egr delete valley pan, with an almost brand new Street Demon 750 carb. Offenhauser finned valve covers. Best I can say is it’s a runner, and should be a strong one at that. Installed with Schumacher mounts on factory k frame.

26” Champion radiator, core was modified to fit.

New open element air cleaner with 383 4 bbl sticker on it.

New Hedman headers, they are in the motor and bolted on but still need to be dimpled in a few spots for final fitment.

727 Transmission with new Poly mount, includes 15 qts of ATF 4 to get it going.

New fuel tank, 3/8” sending unit and 3/8” fuel line. Sending unit and fuel line attached with hi pressure fuel injection hose and FI clamps.

It has 4 14” wheels with near new tires and the original hub caps.

Front end was rebuilt in 2019 with moog parts:
Factory sway bar
PST solid tie rod sleeves
Disc brakes
PST adjustable strut rods
Competition Engineering drag shocks

Brand new 16:1 PST manual steering box and moog pitman arm.

Steering column was converted to floor shift, and Borgeson U-Joint installed(welded)to get rid of factory coupler. The column still needs assembly and paint. Includes new upper and lower bearings.

I just installed Super Stock leaf’s springs, with the competition engineering drag shocks and all new bushings. New u bolts for the 7 1/4 rear.

Parts included for a full price offer:

A Body 8 1/4 rear end with restored pinion snubber. Housing cleaned and axles removed. I have the diff bearing caps bagged and marked for the correct side.

Restored shock plates and new U Biots from Mancini with correct waffle pattern under the flat part of the U.

Brand new old stock Motive 3.73 gears for the 8 1/4.

Yukon Master rebuild kit for 8 1/4, premium made in USA kit, Timiken bearings.

Brand new from Dr Diff Spicer Track Lock for the 8 1/4 with a tube of Mopar sure grip additive.

Brand new lightweight Master cylinder with adapter from Dr Diff 15/16 bore.

Brand new correct throttle cable for Big Block A body.

New FBO ignition system with ignition box and coil.

New Taylor 8mm spark plug wires

New replacement distributor from Richard Ebooger. Check it out, better than the china reproductions and come with the hotter 440 ignition curve. With rotor and two caps.

New grant repro Tuff wheel

Factory tuff wheel adapter

Full Jegs 2.5” exhaust system, with upgraded Dynomax Ultra flow mufflers.

Classic instruments 6 gauge set

Factory gauge bezel to modify for custom gauges. Bezel has been stripped and is ready to modify.

833 Od with shifter and mounting pads.

Set of 4 speed pedals, just the pedals that you can add to the stock automatic bracket.

Mini starter

2 factory starters

2 alternators, 1 rebuilt single pulley and an original dual groove pulley that was on the 383 when I got it.

2 Bassett Racing wheels with 235/60r15 drag radials mounted.

I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff, but you can see it’s a project that is close to running, and could be driving easily. It still needs a driveshaft, but everything else is there to get it running and driving.
