Vinyl wrapping my 69 Barracuda
I thought I might post this up here to share my experience so far wrapping my 69. I have painted cars in the past and have kicked around the idea of wrap for a few years and finally pulled the trigger on my Kia EV6. It wasn't that hard so I thought I'd give it another go with the cuda. Turns out, the cuda has been more of a challenge. The Kia has smaller panels and I was able to make it look pretty good without having to remove a bunch of trim. Not so with the Cuda, I've been disassembling bunches of parts, bumpers off, door handles, trim, etc.. I have an AAR hood and nose piece for a 69 (this car has a 67 front even though it's a 69) arriving Monday that I plan to wrap in carbon fiber. The carbon fiber wasn't as mallable as the purple wrap and I think it's two layers, with a clear on top. I will have to cover the sides of the scoop first then go over the entire hood so there will be some seams around the scoop but I don't really care. You can see in the photos, I went over the stripes so it is embossed, kind of like ghosting if it was paint, very subtle.
