So, stop for dinner tonight at a place that sells nice duck. On a fairly busy road. But put on the emergency hazard lights while we were parked there. About a half an hour later two young girls on a motor scooter we're looking across the street didn't see the car, or the hazard lights apparently, and smacked it dead in the rear. Made one hell of a noise. They both fell off. But they weren't hurt. But the car was, as well as their bike. Things work a little differently in Vietnam than they do in America apparently. Apparently if the offending driver even has insurance it doesn't pay to repair the car that they hit. The offending person usually has to pay in cash for the damage. These two girls were about 20 years old. So they called their father to come out and look. Meanwhile I called my police friend here in my city, and he also came out just in case there was some problem with negotiations on the price. I think the damage to be repaired in America would be at least 1200 bucks usd. Which is about 28 million dong. To repair that damage in Vietnam is probably around 10 million dong. She agreed to take 5 million dong in cash. Then she's going to turn the damage into the insurance company. Lol. Always excitement here in Vietnam.
