Stop in for a cup of coffee

The railroads brought the Eucalyptus into the western states from Australia to use as timbers for the railroad. They were drought tolerant and pretty tough. Problem was, the wood was brittle and would crack under the weight so they gave up on using them... but there's tons in the desert states still ..
They were used for wind breaks because of their low water needs round here. One of the neighboring villages is mostly a giant sand dune and backs up to the sea on one side. They planted those Eucs on the seaward side to keep their village from being Barstow by the Sea to keep that sand on the ground where it belongs :lol: th?id=OIP.jpgth?id=OIP.jpg Barstow in Spring
