That will be a delay switch tied to the interior lighting, not related to headlight circuit.
The 'headlight switch' is a multifunction switch.
1. Switch for headlights.
2. Switch for marker lights (aka parking lights, tail lights, and fender side lamps)
3. Control dimmer for instrument panel lighting. (Rotating the knob)
4. One of several switches for turning on the dome and other interior lights.
Electrically #4 is not related to the first three.
The dome light circuit is just this.
Any switch after the dome light can complete the circuit.
If that makes sense, we can look at the optional delay switch and light package.
