Solar Panels, for CIVIL discussion

I could use solar almost year round. We have something like 300 days of sunshine a year.

When I looked into it, to get my investment back would take the better part of 22 years. And I didn’t add in the known cost of battery replacement and other crap.

That would put me at almost 80 years old. And that’s IF it only needed “normal” maintenance. I’m just looking to make 65.
But are you including increased property value and tax incentives into your calculations? Let alone being much closer to accommodate next generation panels?

There are panels that produce 3 to 5 times more current than today's home panels. But of course the problem is cost. These panels are WAY too expensive today. And only science and engineering research use. Like NASA.

Solar is going to win. But will it be in our lifetime to feel the benefits? That is a legitimate question.
