The Dust-Turd project.
Now........... the clutch and trans debacle. Holy crap, what a pain in the *** to make everything play nice. Bought a 10" 3 disk Crower pro sportsman clutch from a pro mod and had Crower reface the titanium pressure plate and floaters.
Had to have a 6 bolt flywheel made as the one with the clutch is a 8 bolt Hemi and nobody had one available for 3-6 months.
Found out that you cannot reuse the flywheel insert face pads, or the stand bolts or the nuts so had to order all that new.
When installing the flywheel I had made, found that the hole that fits over the crank flange was too small. They copied the Hemi flywheel and the hole in the middles was smaller. Off to the machine shop to be cut.
Install the pilot bearing and mocked up the transmission and the imput from the lenco was short.......@$%#%^$^&!
No worries, I'll just order one from Lenco.................six weeks until they make any more. %^*%&^%$#%*&%*&^!!!
Thankfully, I know some people:). Larry and Jordan Ensslin from Ensslin racing. Took all the parts and the clutch to them and Jordan refaced all the plates and set up the clutch and taught me how to do it. Larry then opened his tool box and had THREE of the hereforeto unobtainable input shafts. Couple hundred bucks later I was on my way home ready to go. They are great people.
New throw out bearing and bolt that baby up............and the bearing stand was too long holding the clutch disengaged when the bell housing was tightened up. Back to the machine shop.
Once that was done, bolted everything up, set the clutch pressure and stops and went for a ride!
