On one of my railroad forums, an RR employee said there are about 1000 derailments per year.

...and those are only the ones "serious enough" to involve the FRA (or whatever gov't accountability agency has jurisdiction).

There's a good reason to thank those Affirmative Action policies of the 70s :lol: Went with heavy equipment instead of railroadin' :lol: Never turned over any blades, dozers or scrapers :lol:
