1971 Dodge Demon 340 Tribute

Details:

Same owner last 38 years, low mileage car, daily driven from 1985-1990, garaged and weekend toy after that. It's not perfect or a rotisserie resto, nice street car. Fun car, draws lots of attention especially from local law enforcement. Priorities in life changing, getting buried in it is not an option lol..


1972 360 cu. in bored .030 over, 10.5 to 1 compression. Stock crank and rods both shot peened, MP windage tray, KB190 pistons, 308 heads 2.02 / 1.60 valves, MP springs, Edelbrock Air Gap intake with 650 AVS carb, recurved distributor. Short block has about 25K mi on it, built in 93 by D & P Machine Garland Texas.. Heads, intake, carb installed in 2011, have about 1500mi on that stuff. NOS Rev N ator ecu and coil just installed 3/2023, 3 core radiator in great shape freshly flushed cooling system 1/2023. Mopar battery and NOS Mopar battery cables not repops. Mini starter, TTI ceramic coated inside and out headers, with TTI exhaust pipes w/ Flowmaster 44's.

New Passon Performance Chrysler 833 4 speed w/Hays Street/Strip Clutch Kit 85-301, Mopar Performance Flywheel, hurst shifter, heavy duty shift rods from Brewers, billet shifter mount. New driveshaft, u joints, and slip yoke. Less than 1K mi.

Factory 8 3/4 rear with fresh 3.55 gears, bearings, NOS Chrysler limited slip unit. OE Mopar big bolt axles cut down to A body specs by Moser, nos Mopar Timken tapered bearings and seals. OE 10" drum brakes with new wheel cylinders, brake shoes, spring kit, etc inside low mileage OE drums. Less than 1K mi.


15x7 Satin Finish Centerline Auto Drag wheels in the rear with 255-60-15 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials, 14x6 Satin Finish Centerline Auto Drag wheels in the front with new 205-70-14 BFG Radial T/A's in the front with McGard lug nuts all the way around. Less than 1K mi.


73-76 A body K frame and manual disc brake conversion using OE Mopar 73-76 A body stuff. Rebuilt calipers. New pads, bearings, hoses, distr. block and direct connection adjustable proportioning valve. New metal brake lines, upper and lower ball joints, bushings, tie rods, etc. New 16:1 manual steering box from Firm Feel. Stock OE 73-76 A body front sway bar. Less than 1K mi.

New front bucket seat foams, and new covers front and rear, new carpet, new headliner, nice used dashpad, new windshield, and all new door, glass, and trunk weatherstripping. All gauges, lights work. Tuff wheel from Dales Cuda Shop. A/C and Heater box resealed with new heater core and original evaporator that worked fine 20 or 30 years ago last time I had the AC all installed and working.


Paint still looks pretty nice after 14 years. No rust. Vinyl top in excellent condition. Excellent chrome pieces; bumpers, fender edge mouldings, antenna bezel parts all rechromed by Beaman Plating Yuma, Colorado. . Original 340 demon hood and scoops, original Mopar sport mirrors with new glass, not Chinese repops. First Place Products 71 Gull Wing, NOS tail light lenses, complete NOS rear side marker assemblies, NOS wheel opening mouldings, new front tires last month, Mickeys on rear are 3 years old. I'm sure I've missed some things but a pretty good run down.
