To each their own. My grandfather always hated the things too but yet my grandmother raised them for 40 years. My wife is the driving force behind this as well but I’m not letting them just be pets, they have to at a minimum pay for themselves within 3 years. Meaning she’s responsible for selling any extra milk, or turning it into sellable products. There is a rather large market for that stuff, locally and online. I’ll handle that portion, she just has to have it sellable.
And any offspring, we will be selling a majority of. We’re at 7, our pasture size is approximate for about 12.
