My response was to assist Oldkimmer and others faced with this question. An earlier statement was made that the truck trans will work. And if you read my comments carefully you will note that I back his statements and provide additional useful information so that the OP can make the best decisions for what they want to do.
An example would be that he gets the transmission for free with the engine purchase. In that case he of course would want to use that transmission. With the information provided, that swap is easy.
