Need some guidance on transmission/flexplate/torque convertor

Yep, use the Magnum flex plate either way and just make sure you have the correct one for a 5.2 or a 5.9 because the 5.9 flex plate has the weights on it and the 5.2 doesn't. No weights on the converter for either one. You will need to rat one hole out for LA converters on either flex plate.
