I lost a day yesterday trying to help a buddy out with a Dog emergency. He is retired from AF and now bounces around country visiting old friends with his wife and two wiener dogs. Long story short the dogs have back issues and one of them fell off the bed and was paralyzed on back end. Two Vets turned down the urgent care request and finally got in to see one. It was an all day adventure. His wife refuses to put the dog down. Dog has no control of bowels, no use of rear legs and they have to push on its tummy over the bladder to make it urinate. Totally gorked out on pain meds. I understand how she does not want to lose the dog but that is just no way for anything to live. She has a sling to carry the back end of the dog like a purse. Tuff day. Plus I did not get to do the stuff I had scheduled, I only got in three hundred rounds of practice rounds yesterday.
