Stop in for a cup of coffee

So I went to scan a check engine light on this '05 Mercury Marquis. Hadn't used my scanner in eons. Looked at it close where the wires come out of the unit, four out of the eight wires were broken from flexing too much right at the unit itself. Unit was pretty old anyhow. But I decided I would fix it. Took it apart cut the shoulder back a little bit so I can get to the wires easier and I used solder butt connectors that you heat with a heat gun. I think Tim turned us onto them. Anyhow I got it all back together and now it works. Cheaper than buying a new one. Lol
