'65 Dart GT Convertible 273 V8 Hi-Po 3 Speed Auto Floor Shifter $12000
I purchased this head turner in Oakland CA in 1980 from the original owner. Restored in 1985, the Dart was my daily driver until early '90s. Numbers matching motor rebuilt in 2005 (receipts) and driven around 2000 miles since. 172000 on the odometer. Been garaged since 2013 in Henderson NV and driven locally once every three months or so around the neighborhood. Was running fine until Spring of 2022. I'm selling for personal reasons, primarily health related, and sadly my adult children are not interested in keeping the vehicle in the family.
The Dart had not been not started or driven for a year beginning May 2022. It was difficult to fire up in late May of 2023 and ran extremely rough once it warmed up. Obviously now needs TLC, but nothing significant. Tires and power brakes okay, front suspension could use some work. 4 barrel carb needs proper adjustment. Battery needs replacement. Power steering works but reservoir leaks. Minimal rust. Manual top, original functioning factory AM radio, lights, turn signals all working. Even the interior courtesy under dash light works! Windshield wipers work but windshield washers need parts. Floors solid. It's a better than decent well-optioned "20 footer" in it's current state. Build sheet under rear seat back there but extremely fragile. The VIN tag indicates it left the factory with a black exterior, making this a very rare example. Electronic ignition now but have the original dual point distributor and some miscellaneous extra parts. Easy fix for daily driver status or excellent candidate for restoration. 95% complete.
