I think I'm going to install one of these if for nothing else the added capacity and filter change convenience. Not that filter access is that bad with a SBM. Still going to need a larger than stock pan with some good baffling to keep from starving the pump though.

If the engine isn’t assembled you are better off drilling and tapping the block and screwing the fittings into the block than using that adapter plate.

If it’s together than you don’t really have that option.
