Guess its all in the store you deal with or just the person you are unlucky to get. Several years ago I bought a Kobalt battery powered drill set. It came with the Impact driver, Drill and Sawsall. The Impact stopped working after a couple of years of daily use. Instead of giving me a new impact they said since it came as a kit I had to bring in the entire set which I did.
