Ford 272 C.I. runs low 11's. Why do Mopar guys need 408's?

Am I missing something, or are you guys? K/gas, that's a Ford six. Probably 10 or 15 grand worth of Ford six. He'll, we don't even know it's a ford!
(And a 272 is usually a y-block early 50s replacement for the flathead. I have one, [actually a 239, 1954], I usually say it won't pull a fat girl off a tricycle. Not strictly true.... it won't pull a skinny girl off a trike either).
Edit: the last Ford six I saw that ran like that, had 1 1/2 Cleveland four barrel heads on it.

I suppose it could be a .060 over 260......

Or he could just be lying about it on the fender.....


I tell people my Opel has a 396, a hundred over. Not my fault if they don't think 496.
