Here's a cool little 273/292 build for the 273 guys.

Near flat on the hp/tq....
305 bore is what 3.73, from 273 3.62?
Eq's are overkill and a terrible choice for that motor if broad torque and drivability was the goal. Motor like that is a turd under 3800 rpm, needs a stick or big convertor and basically redline 100' to the traps.


Why don't they ever build a 273 at .040 or .060 over with a decent 500 lift cam and ported 1.78 valve 1.50 273 heads in the magazines?
Because they're selling you products. They keep the purest hanging on when they introduce a stock Parts build 'once in a blue moon'.. the rest of the time they're selling you parts.
Of course these heads are a terrible choice for this small bore engine but that's who sponsoring and buying ad space this month.
