Sounds like you don't have any extra paint on the shelf, if you need it I would go to a paint store and by a pint of miss matched paint, anything to get you closer to read, we call it value coat, they sell it anywhere they mix paint, I can buy miss mixed base coat for 20 dollars a quart here, red might be 30.

well.. i was thinking of adding a bit of the red and doing a quick coat of primer again to darken it once the red shows up.. Seems at that point though i might as well just do a couple of coats of red and hope it isn't too bright :) Not sure how much the primer color will matter on a opaque red if i get good coverage
