Stop in for a cup of coffee

The Snake lies in the grass
Pretending to be fun and full of sass
The snake moves in, silently stalking
Tricking its prey into trust
Then striking when the snake must
The prey pays the price, the price of misguided trust
The prey strikes back, surprising the snake
Trapping the snake, in its own trap.
The prey is wounded, hurt but alive
The snake is unhurt, but trapped without escape.
For the snake catcher is smarter than the snake
