Offset.. can someone help me ?
Hey folks,
Haven't been on the board for awhile.
Yes, we still have the Duster :) I passed it on to my son but due to his jobs and moving ( now Cummins - Ret CAF Dec/2022) it is still owned / stored and insured by me.. but I don't drive it now. I want him to have a garage when he takes it. Presently he is paying 2500/month for a 700 sq foot apartment on the 14th floor... anyone here from Mississauga , Ont ?
Anyway, a family member sold me a car.. it had been in storage since '86 and they sold their house in an 1.5 hours during covid and it was sitting in tall, wet grass. I was actually looking for a wooden boat built in the 50/60s to work on but the family member said it would take a few months to get back on the road :) Yeah, sucker. We aren't talking a lot at the moment. I have been working in it two summers now, I figure I have 3 years left.. Anyway, the question.
No one in this marque.. I mean FB pages, web sites and a rim specialist has been able to answer this question and I figure out you guys would know.
I am ready to start reassembling the car.
During my rebuild, I chose a wire wheel axle due to the condition over a steelie axle I had. It is 1.5 inches narrower than the other. I would like to go with a slightly larger tire/rim in the rear ( think Aston Martin ) and not use a spacer. My math tells me that I should be able to add another 12 degrees of offset for the 3/4 inch so I can avoid the spacer but no one can verify this.
Thoughts ?
Thanks !
