1972 Dodge Colt
I had changed the clutch master cylinder out a month ago.
Waiting on the trans I never hooked it up.
I started to go through the install and low and behold, they have chenaged the OD of the piston rod.
It was 3/8 now it is 5/16.
Problem is the pedal is setup for a 3/8 bolt.
No one makes a 5/16 24 rod end bearing with a 3/8 ball bore.
I might can take the new cylinder apart and swap the rod out, but it's new and I hate to do that.
Not sure the bore seal on the end would take the 3/8 vs 5/16.
So I became a machinist today and made a bushing for the rod end ball end on the petal.
This will slip into the petal hole and change that hole from 3/8 to 5/16.
I took a 3/8 bolt, cut the head off, center drilled it to 5/16 and then cut the drilled bolt end off.
A little file work and it looks like it will work.
I really have a hard time drilling on center, but lucked out on this one.
Real even margin all around on the bushing.
