Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA
Well I just got back home after a trip to Little Rock training a Church Security Team. They have right at 25 Team members and four of them are female. They all got to pelt me at one time or another with airsoft pistols. We did force on force all day long. I am beat up! If you think airsoft pistols are just toys you have never been pinged with one! I wear a hoodie, mechanics gloves and thick pants. I still look like I have a serious case of the measles! I have welts all over me. And my support hand is shot to pieces. I don’t have a finger on it that is not black or blue. Without going into a bunch of physiological and biomechanics suffice to say when someone points a weapon at you untrained folks tend to fixate on the threat. In this case my pistol pointed at them. As a result my hands get tore up every training session When student after student aims at the pistol in my hand and shoots. I got tossed to the ground, punched repeatedly and bent awkwardly over church pews all day. It was a great day of training! Hah! For me it is simply extremely satisfying to watch the confidence and the rapid increase in skill set as the students go thru the exercises. Had a buddy who has been SWAT for a very long time assist me in room clearing. I even got shot in the kitchen holding a mop! Folks get amped up when doing force on force! While sad a church has to even contemplate providing their own security, if you are going to do it, you might as well do it as best as you possibly can. For me it is a blessing being able to serve and protect.
Be safe out there guys.
