1972 Dodge Colt

I finished up the 3.09 transmission.
I decided to use my Direct Connection extension housing.
I need to take advantage of some of the cooler weather and make a few passes this year.

The Liberty gear set was hard to get into the case.
Like an Overdrive transmission, the cluster has to be in the bottom of case to get the main shaft in.
The paddles/dogs on 3rd gear hit the cluster gear, so you need to make some space.
Dropping the cluster down has some problems of it's own.
The brass shims want to go everywhere but when they need to be.
So I got the idea to gasket tack them in place and then pull the cluster into position.
Helps a lot.
I hope to get the box back in tomorrow.
