Thanks, when I did that the skin of the filter just tore open on both sides where screwdriver went in and out of filter. Also I did it towards the "top" of filter because I didn't know how far into the filter body the oil tube/pipe protruded, didn't want to hit it.
I have changed thousands of oil filters. The stuck ones are always a *****. One so bad, i cut everything off right to the plate o-ring sits in. Then air hammer to get it moving. That was the worst one ever.
Lack of oil on the o-ring is always the issue.
Seems hydraulic oil also causes a problem too. Motor oil is best. Grease is bad too.
Owner at gas station used diesel fuel to lube o-ring. Mistake. I went and got my good filter wrench and removed it for him.
He bent 2 filter wrench handles.
