Is ECS my only option for a date coded windshield? (Problem is now resolved)

I wouldn't worry about a date code
I just had to pay $350 for a damn USED windshield for my son's car a '72 c body fury wagon because that's all either of us could find
That doesn't count the 6 hours each way drive time or gas to go to Murray Park in Ohio to get what we did. (Murray Park is the name of a guy who has been selling c body parts forever not a "place")
The guys on FCBO tell me "that's about normal, not bad" but to me it was freaking ridiculous.
The only sorta saving grace, was I was out there on a camp trip anyways, so the drive wasn't solely for the windshield
But before we bought from him, we hunted and hunted and HUNTED for over a year and came back empty
