Dumb Mopar moves - this should be fun
We can all kick ourselves all day for passing on cars from our past. I bought a '69 Chevelle SS. L78 396 4 speed. 12 bolt 4:10 rear for $500 in late 70s because motor dropped a valve. I completely parted car out. Making about $2500 in one week. I thought I was so smart. Today? IT WOULD BE A SIN!
But my Mopar story was my first '69 GTX. I sold in 1990 for $4k to buy a minivan when my 4th child in 5 years was born. I did what I had to do. But that decision haunted me. To the point of occasional reoccurring dreams over the years. In 2018 I found a GTX near Canadian border here in Minn. Same performance 440. Same 4 speed/Dana 3.54:1. Same F8 color. But this guy in a little better shape from the pounding I gave my first. But car is not numbers matching as first. (But period correct block, trans.) I payed 5x what I sold in 1990. With a little TLC. The car runs very well. Though simular to first, it does have a different personality.
P.S. The recurring dreams have stopped.
