Mopowers' 66 Dart Build
I also started making some door panels. I ended up using a sheet of 1/8" white board fiberboard from Lowe's. I liked the fact that I could put the white side out to help resist moisture, plus the whole 4'x 8' sheet was only $20.
I also picked up some textured black vinyl off Amazon and some 1/8" foam from the fabric store. For the bottom, I went with black speaker box carpet. I hope to finish them up tomorrow.
For adhesive, I befriended an old upholstery dude around the corner from my house and ended up buying some industrial grade contact cement from him that's made for headliners. It seems like good stuff, so hopefully it holds up well.
Here are the old door panels:
And the new ones cut out:
Top half done with foam and vinyl. There are a few creases that still show, but it's good enough for a hotrod. I'll get these finished up tomorrow, then I can focus on getting the jams and trunk all primed and painted.
