What is the correct fan to radiator clearance?

My 67 273 did not come with a shroud and the fan is 1-2 inches from the stock rad. with a stock shroud the fan is about 1/2 in and 1/2 out.

Hi Dana67Dart. Factory shroud for 340 car and radiator engine combo. Can give you the numbers if you want. Car was originally /6 with clutch.
