They don't want to upset the apple cart. Getting the block side seal out is the worst part. I would loosen the mains to make it easier to remove. Slide the seal back in, dob a bit of silicone on the ends, put the cap seal in and install the cap, retorque the mains and you're done. You could also pull the caps and inspect the bearings, (not a bad idea) and check clearances with plastic gauge if you wish. Give the bearings a squirt of assembly lube or STP.
