Sorry about the accident and its great that he has recovered.
A few suggestions to add.
1. Save the old parts - especially if they are factory. Sometimes they are very useful reference or later you figure out they weren't bad and the problem was something else. New replacement and performance parts quality is generally spotty. For example aftermarket 'performance' fuel pumps have in recent years had excessively high cut off pressures.

2. The internet can be a wonderful thing. In addition to the service manual, one can look up service bulletins and sales literature, as well as Chrysler's Master Technician Conference. The MTSC answers many questions about how systems work, tips for techs, and sometimes even addresses myths (that existed before the internet! LOL). All right from mother Mopar, not some self proclaimed expert looking for attention or your CDN. ;)
