The 24 x 42 shed/shop in our new place (still unheated) has no windows, but the ridge is open about 6-8", and the vent is made of some clear material (plastic? fiberglass?), so it doesn't get completely dark in there when I shut the lights off. And I
like that...
(Edit: You can see some light coming through the ridge in this picture taken from when we were moving in.)
I plan on insulating it next spring, and have been considering doing a "hot roof" with expanding foam, but that would negate the light now coming through the ridge vent.
I never thought of installing windows of some sort mounted up high...
