My Mother taught me way back when to hold the door for a lady.
It can (believe it or not) cause you trouble this day and age as some , well I am not sure what they want to be called, will get pissed if you hold the door for them.
Had that experience with a female plumber with her arms loaded. I held the door like I’d do for any other tradesman and got **** for it so I let the door go. She had to put her stuff down to open the door LOL
