My brother was an adjuster for Allstate in IL for 12 years and now lives in AZ...

He pretty much told me the same thing... I'm trying to find out for sure if they are denying covering it before getting my insurance involved...

Yep. Don't give them an out. Although your insurance will investigate any chance of making them pay. If they get it, you should get any deductibles back.
