I never got why mopar timed the rocker arm oiling. I know what it does and how it works. But. My Magnum based 408 oils thru pushrods. No over oiling....
I wonder if timed was only on purpose. A hole drilled in a cam bearing journal gives it a squirt every half turn. If you groove the bearing you will get constant flow but they must have decided it was too much oil on top.
