The 318 was only 30 minutes away from me and this happened almost 2 years ago. At the time I saw the motor at his shop I was thinking about buying it for a rebuild to put in a '69 dart that he had that had a 273 in it. He was one of those people that think that because it's a mopar it's worth a gold mine. He forgot about what it's worth and what you get is two different things.

If I was buying a motor for a rebuild, $800.00 may be a little high, but if the motor was to be a drop-in, then I would want to hear it run, whether in a car or on the ground. Takes about an hour to hook up a tranny, exhausts, fuel and battery. Hot wire to the coil and starter and your ready to go. Don't forget to remove line from starter or use a starter button. LOL
