I use Permatex Ultra Black. Where I messed up a couple times is that front passenger's side, you have to run the bead back and not leave a gap. And like pittsburg said set intake down with side gaskets in place eye up the gap so you know how thick bead should be.

And I don't use the end gaskets just beads of silicone on both front and back walls.

I initially used some Felpro paper-like-looking intake to head port gaskets. Around 9 years later got coolant leak out front port. Pulled intake and used those Felpro head-gasket-material-looking intake gaskets to fix it. Read online others had issues with those paper-looking intake gaskets.
