318 power!

Stock 318. Aftermarket pistons but still in the whole? But they are replacing the rods with ones longer to zero deck it? WTF are they thinking. DV polished the beams on that stock rod because he could and it didn't cost anything but time. It will make the rod stronger but it won't increase the performance. He could recondition the rod and add a new set of ARP bolts and it would be good to 400+ HP. Oh, and I didn't know that a larger bore increases compression. WTF
Actually, boring over a lot does increase the squeeze, same chamber+more displacement=higher CR. In fact, the .060" over stock replacements in the K6 were shorter a little bit because the mfrs try to keep that from happening. The mass removed from the rods was more than just a little polish, it was part of rotating & reciprocating weight reduction, & yes w/ARP's more than strong enough.
They have the machines, why aren't they just decking the block? I guess I haven't been following the latest UT debacle since Servedio switched to the 2nd set of heads.
Oh, I have a 360 2bbl intake on My back porch, is that + the large-bore BBD or 2245 Holley verboten as 'Stock' or...?
