1972 Scamp "Smokey" - Saved From Wildfire

We got ourselves a hot rod, boys! The car is back at my shop and the cage came out awesome.

If any of you guys are near Central Oregon and are needing a cage and/or any fabrication done, check out Meticulous Metalworks. Matt did a phenomenal job and I'm not easy to impress. Everything is tucked and the welds look like dimes. Pictures don't do them justice.

As per the advice of my chassis builder buddy, we got those rear down bars as far back as we could. The X was added at the top because those rear bars are almost 7ft long and he wanted to add more rigidity.

I also had him add an extra pair of downward support bars directly over the rear axle for when I switch over to ladder bars next year. I'll mount the rear coilovers directly beneath these plates.

Can't get tighter than that. The man had a plan.

He was even able to keep my rearview mirror :)

I'm scheduled to get the cage certified on April 6th. Should be making passes here in the Spring. Overall, I'm a happy guy.
