Want to make a comment regarding linkage adjustment which may be incorrect. First and second use the same gate so moving from first to second could not be a linkage adjustment issue. Thanks for all the comments. They are much appreciated.
I think where that was going, that us not knowing the type/limits of the shifters travel, and without the pin to give max front/back movement, is it possible that the rod adjusters moved a twist or two, and won't allow enuff lever travel to be totally/sufficiently in 2nd gear, causing it to jump out.
