Freddys not dead
We have Fatburger and Five Guys up here, besides the usual. No In And Out, WhatABurger, Freddy's or Carvers. We only recently got a Chick-Fil-A so we are pretty "hick" still.
Personal favorite is Five Guys locally and In And Out when I am traveling. Ate at In And Out twice in Vegas when I was at SEMA last year. I thought the burgers were great, maybe it is just nostalgia from when I was able to eat it in San Diego before they got big and not having them locally. And Five Guys is rare because they are expensive. Lot's of food, but expensive.
No idea if Fatburger is any good, even though I have eaten there once. Must not have hit a cord for me as I don't remember thinking it was anything special.
On a separate note, got to thinking about how different life is now. Even when I was a kid (born in the late 60's) eating out was a special event and drive through's were for when we were traveling, if at all. Seems like now life is mostly drive through's and fast food for most people. I bet most young adults now ate more than 50% of their dinners in the back seat of a car. Not that I did any better with my kids.
