my boss and I used to put the ABS caps on older porches. now we just send them to just dashes and let them redo it. even the better ABS ones warp in Florida sunlight after a year or so if not correctly installed and then even the ones correctly installed will warp within 3 years. It one of the reasons we switched and went to fully recovered dashes.(it's a $$$ breaker for my early 's though since some of the cars I have cost less that getting a dash done) I just recovered mine for that more padded lookstead of original
