looking for feedback on solid flat tapper vale springs. I currently run beehive 365 ci 135/335 on a 238/238 .560 lift but it doesn’t pull past 5400. Stepping up to a 12:1 414 this season 272/280 .590 any suggestions.

Something is terribly wrong right there.......

List everything you know about the combo. I have mine in a note on the phone. I just copy and paste when asked. I have a “somewhat” similar cam. You have more intake and exhaust flow than I do, but I have more head flow,CI,and compression and mine is like the DEVIL! “Come on, it’s only a couple more rpm! It will be fine! 7000 is the new 5000! Whimp!”

Fuel pressure?
That's what my machinist suggested. I run a decent mechanical pump. I believe its about 90 gpm. 26/10/15 slick 4 speed, 3.55/ 3.91. 4.30 no exceptional change in 60'. I swapped to a 11.5;1 360 and a Schneider grind 246/.510 solid on 110 with 308 heads and same spec valve springs. 1.94 1.6 valves and it comes on a lot stronger. Shelfing this car and working on a 1984 Daytona for this season.

How is the geometry on the rockers ?
If it's wrong you might not be getting all the lift at the valve.
Have you verified this ?
Too much or not enough fuel pressure usually has the engine breaking up misfiring.

The sweep across the valve tip looks good. I spoke with Howards today and they said 335# open was not enough. The engine doesn't miss or break up at rpm. Tech sat its beginning to flat and cant control the cylinder pressure.
I'm looking for a dual spring with 1.800 installed 360 -375# open pressure. Along with retainers for 11/32 valve with 10* keepers. Hughes has a spring from Pac but the retainers say +.100.

Okay good, sounds like you're getting it figured out.

I’m running PAC 1903’s at 1.80 on this cam. Pulls through 7000 rpm

135 on the seat 340 over the nose

My wide lobe separation helps with the exhaust manifolds.

I've got a 340 on the stand for my sons 72 dart. I'm hoping the manifolds can take a solid 230/230 .489 on 108, but I'm having second thoughts after reading you et!

Last weekend it ran a 11.24 at 119 with a 1.60 60’, but was with a M&H DOT race tire, not the required F70-14 redline So it doesn’t count, but the M&H DOT tire doesn’t make the car quicker. Just easier to drive. I believe a high 11 teen is possible with a redline tire. Replacing the radiator, because of a small leak. Should lose some more nose weight. Going aluminum.

Which tire are you using??

In competition F70-14 redline lines, last week testing was a 14” M&H DOT Musclecar tire. My limited converter flash, (3500) doesn’t let me use all the M&H tires ability. Which works out just fine for me. More apples to apples, just more repeatable.

In competition I have to run this tire. Testing I run the M&H

I was required to run a “race” tire on drag week. It was the only 14” that would work.

My 360 has a Howards flat tappet with 1.6 rockers, Currently I have a Crane dual spring, 150lbs on the seat and around 400 open. My camshaft is a little bigger though, from memory it was around 0.690" valve lift and 266-276 @ 0.050"
It makes peak power at 6900 RPM, turns to over 7000
