I don't understand all the mathematics involved with this. But everything that I've been reading says that torque makes your car quick off the line and horsepower makes it fast. I'm not trying to argue over this, it's just that everything I've been reading talks about the importance of torque and this has come from some top engine builders. Again I'm not saying that I'm right on this topic as I don't have the experience that you guys have. But if torque doesn't matter then why is it mentioned so much by the hot rod crowds.
