Can’t find neutral on my 904

So I just disconnected the drive shaft and to my gleeful surprise the drive shaft rotated with the trannie. Meaning no locked bands in the trans!!!

I also noticed when the drive shaft was disconnected and trying to turn one of the wheels the backing plated rocked with the wheel……Must be the brakes and not the rear gears right? There is some play in the back and forth movement. The rear gears were recently installed by a diff shop so I would think it’s not that.?……

If so then maybe the brakes are camed in?. Possibly the adjuster locked up over the last few years of being rolled on the dolly’s…???

Let me know if this sounds like my next step?

Try and release the adjuster through the back slots and adjust out the shoes via the star wheel?

Or should I take the wheels and drum off and confirm wtf is going on in there?
