8 3/4 rear end confusion
Hello, hope everyone is doing well. I am currently assembling my 8 3/4 differential sure grip clutch type carrier after I took it apart and had the machine shop clean it to get rid of all the metal shavings. Two things came to mind as I was putting it back together. First off, do those pinion shafts need to have the spacer where they meet at that hole in the center. I can't remember if I took it off like that or if the machine shop took it off and never gave it back. Another possibility is that it was never there but I can't recall. Second, the clutch in the other picture has a crack and I'm pretty sure that was caused by the machine shop. Might be a dumb question but is there anything that can be done to still be able to use that clutch; it is the concave one. I don't even know where I would go about finding another one of those without purchasing an entire carrier. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys
